Stefano e Valentina
Valentina and Stefano have worked in Venice for almost 20 years in their laboratory in the historic centre and create masks with a unique style, recognisable throughout the city. "Our idea" - says Valentina - "Is that of renewing the art of the Venetian mask with an original style inspired by the neo-Baroque." Their work deals with the papier-mâché mask decorated with reproductions of original Baroque friezes which they have collected over the years. All the materials used in their laboratory are first choice and certified (paper, metal leaves, feathers, silks, brocades, pearls and crystals). Their challenge is to maintain the tradition of the Venetian mask with an authentic high-end product as opposed to the invasion of low-quality souvenir masks imported into the city from abroad to guarantee a low price for mass tourism.
