The mask is made using a cut of vegetable-tanned leather that is wet and pressed on a hand-made mold in Swiss pine wood.
A traditional mask of the commedia dell'arte, Pantalone, with his parsimony and naivety, embodies the wise old bourgeois, offering a satire of the merchant class.
