"After Art School, I was looking for a job which would allow me to continue creating, having fun with colours and materials. So, I started learning the craft of masks in an Atelier in Venice, from a family of artisans. After completing my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, I have always tried to blend art and craftsmanship into a single object. Gaining experience between the tradition of Burano lace and Venetian masks I tried to combine the particularities of these two worlds. My masks start from a careful research of every single material; I like to be amazed by the beauty of the things and places which surround me, from shells collecting on the beach, to the choice of branches, lace, and everything you can find in my creations. I have been living in Venice for 10 years. It has always fascinated me, especially at dawn and at sunset when it is immersed, as if by magic, in a thousand colours, or when the fog rises and the line of the horizon is lost, the sky becomes the sea, and vice versa. Venice is magical, you just need to let yourself be carried away."
