While I was studying at the Milan Polytechnic as a product designer, a friend got me involved in a course on making leather masks, knowing my passion for craftsmanship.Working the leather and seeing how the mask gradually took shape was a life-changing experience and from that moment on it became my job.
I completed my studies by doing a thesis on masks that combined such a traditional and ancient job as that of the mask maker with new technologies. With infinite joy I gave my hands the joy of truly, physically creating.
Now I make professional leather masks for theatre and events, made according to the original techniques in use in the 1500s, but I also love experimenting with new technologies, such as cutting, laser engraving and 3D printing, merging them with craftsmanship.
Tradition and experimentation on leather go hand in hand, and at the same time there is a growing awareness that working with leather means taking care of it, knowing its times and respecting them; being aware that you are working with a living material that demands and deserves respect.
