A few historical notes:
Murano glass takes its name from the island of the same name in the Venetian lagoon where most of the furnaces that produce it are located. It is distinguished by the unique technique with which the glass is worked and has become one of the most famous and sought-after products in the world. An interesting fact is that Murano glass took this name in the 13th century when it was decided that the Venice glassworks should be moved to Murano because the furnaces in the city were the main cause of serious fires.
